Hand Rails
You will need two 3/32" x
3/2" x 24" pieces of mahogany from Bag Number Two (#2) and the
remaining pieces of this material from the toe rails to complete
this sub-assembly.
Use the drawings
of the hand rails on the plan as patterns to cut the hand rail
parts to length. These parts are too small to be pinned to the
plan and can easily be assembled by holding them in position
with your fingers and bonding them with CA, as shown. Make two
of each hand rail.
After assembly,
use a sanding block to sand the joints flush and smooth. Also,
use the sanding block to sand the angle at each end of the hand
rails.
Use Slow CA to glue the short hand
rails to the cockpit roof, in the positions shown on the plan.
Glue the longer rails to the cabin roof, In the positions shown
on the plan.
