Lay a straight edge across F2 on the pencil marks and, using a sharp pencil, draw a line across F2.

Cut a piece of 3/8" triangle stock to fit between the notches in F2. as shown on the plan. Apply Slow CA to one side of the triangle stock. Position it on the pencil line and press it into firm contact with F2, as shown here and on the plan.

Cut a piece of triangle stock to fit between the notches in F3, as shown on the plan. Apply Slow CA to one side of the triangle stock. Position it so that the edge of the triangle stock is flush with the straight edge of F3, as shown here and on the plan.

Frames and Decks

Sand the mating edges of F1, F2 and the breast­hook halves so that the parts fit together with no gaps. Lay the parts on the building board and join them with Slow CA. Be careful to align the ends of these parts so they are flush.

Roger's Notes: When I glued my parts together, I ensured they didn't move while they dried.

Cut two pieces of 3/8" triangle stock to fit above the notches in F1. Apply Slow CA to each piece and glue them flush with the tops of the notches, as shown here and on the plan.

Hold the edge of the sub-deck against the top of one notch in F2, as shown. Using a sharp pencil, mark the position of the underside of the deck on F2, as shown. Make this same measurement and mark on the opposite notch in F2.



Step 21a
If you plan to use the Midwest  MEPS-III Marine Electric Motor, cut out the template from your Supplemental Instructions and place it in the appropriate place on F2.  Drill two 1/8" holes into F2 to allow you to mount your motor at a later time.  If you plan to use a different power source, skip this step.
